Claunch sits within our family farm, giving you the opportunity to stay in the heart of the countryside rather than simply looking out at it.

Depending on the season, you'll see the everyday workings of rural life taking place around the farm, with livestock in the surrounding fields and the landscape changing throughout the year.

It's an authentic part of the Claunch experience and one of the things that makes staying here a little different.

Despite being on a working farm, your retreat is designed to give you privacy and the freedom to relax at your own pace.

One of the best parts of a stay at Claunch is having your own private hot tub.

After a day exploring Dumfries & Galloway, come back, unwind and enjoy the fresh country air.

On a clear evening, stay out as darkness falls and enjoy the night sky away from the lights and noise of town and city life.

Sometimes the best part of getting away is simply having nowhere else you need to be.

When you do decide to venture out, Claunch is ideally placed for discovering the coast, countryside and villages of southwest Scotland.

Explore quiet beaches and coastal roads, visit nearby Garlieston and Wigtown, discover Scotland's National Book Town, enjoy local food and drink, or simply choose a road and see where the day takes you.

Then return to the peace of the farm at the end of the day.

Claunch has deliberately been created as a peaceful retreat for couples.

As this is a genuine working livestock farm, we do not accept pets.

This helps us protect our animals, maintain biosecurity and preserve the quiet countryside environment that makes Claunch such a relaxing place to stay.

We appreciate guests respecting this important part of life on a working farm.
